Nocturnal Projection – Complete Studio Recordings (Clear Yellow Vinyl) [New Viny Artist: Nocturnal Projections Title: Complete Studio Recordings (Clear Yellow Vinyl) Format: Vinyl LP Genre: Rock UPC: 758475507110 Release Date: 2018 Record Label: Dais Album Tracks1. You’ll Never Know2. Isn’t That Strange3. Could It Be Increased4. Difficult Days5. Out of My Hands6. Understanding7. Another Year8. In Purgatory9. Nerve Ends in Power Lines10. In Darkness Formed in Stratford, New Zealand in 1981, Nocturnal Projections was the explosive project of brothers Graeme and Peter Jefferies (who would later form This Kind of Punishment before launching their solo careers), who along with friends Brett Jones and Gordon Rutherford, created some of the most energetic and influential avant-garde punk rock to emerge from the country. «Complete Studio Recordings» comprises the three original Nocturnal Projections studio records, remastered into a single anthology, crystallizing a crucial part of New Zealand’s punk history. Frantic and fast punk anthems like Nerve Ends In Power Lines, Isn’t That Strange, and In Purgatory are a shot in the gut, while slower, more introspective tracks like Difficult Days and You’ll Never Know reveal what the band had in store later with This Kind of Punishment. Nocturnal Projections are hard to pin down: bright, slashing, and prominent guitars with driving solid basslines and drums in tight lockstep, all with Peter Jefferies’ urgent signature baritone vocals soaring alongside – the result is still perhaps the most energetic, unique, and fresh music to ever emerge from the post-punk scene.Copyright DirectToU LLC. Listening – Listening [New Vinyl LP] Clear Vinyl, Yellow

Listening – Listening [New Vinyl LP] Clear Vinyl, Yellow Artist: Listening Title: Listening Format: Vinyl LP Genre: Rock UPC: 848064017363 Release Date: 2024 Record Label: Real Gone Music Limited yellow colored vinyl LP pressing. While most of the bands (Orpheus, Ultimate Spinach, Beacon Street Union) associated with producer Alan Lorber’s «Bosstown Sound» signed with MGM Records, Listening recorded their only album in 1968 with Vanguard. And it’s a highly prized one, at that, with original copies selling for triple figures. One reason for that is, unlike many of their more poppy Boston-based peers, Listening boasted an original, swirling, hard-edged sound, full of jazzy and even proggy passages, and keyboardist/singer/songwriter Michael Tschudin’s lyrics were openly countercultural. That’s future (post-Lou Reed) Velvet Underground member Walter Powers on bass, and blues wunderkind Peter Malick on guitar. A talented band, underappreciated at the time… in other words, right up our Real Gone alley! Coke clear with yellow swirl vinyl pressing, limited to 700 copies.© DirectToU LLC. All Rights Reserved.

Roforofo Fight is the fourth in the series of celebratory Fela 50th Anniversary reissues. Like it’s predecessors in the series, this version will be on color vinyl and the LP will be wrapped in a gold foil obi-strip with a brief essay on the album and Fela’s global impact on music. Like Fela’s other early 70’s releases he uses each side of his LPs to create a deep groove that pulls the listener in and follows with metaphoric lyrics that call out and critique the corrupt hangover of colonialism. The lyrics of the title track illustrate Fela’s frustration at intolerant, violent human behavior by depicting a fight that breaks out in the streets in Lagos. The second song ‘Go Slow’ is a 17:22 minute groove of super funk featuring the deep rhythmic interplay that is a hallmark of Fela’s Afrobeat. Lyrically, the song uses traffic jams in Lagos as a metaphor to criticize the harmful social and environmental impact of urbanization© DirectToU LLC. All Rights Reserved.
