This Columbia Masterworks release captures Graffman’s masterful interpretation of these iconic works, showcasing his technical brilliance and deep emotional understanding of Beethoven’s late period compositions.
This 1978 stereo LP by Columbia’s Odyssey label (Y 35203) features performances of several classical works: Lees’ Sonata No. 4; Bartók’s Suite, Op. 14; and Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 14. They are performed by pianist Gary Graffman. Album notes are in English, written by Leslie Gerber. The outer sleeve shows a bit of damage in the upper left and lower right corners. Both sleeves are yellowed with age. The disc has some handling marks and discolorations in the vinyl. This is one of many titles from an extensive collection of classical LPs and CDs that we will be listing here. All have been carefully stored for many years, played only on premium equipment, and show little to no wear.
